Last Saturday (27th Sept) the new borders-based big band gave its debut performance at the Lockerbie Jazz Festival to a packed hall. It was helped along by Liam Shortall, Trombone student at the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow and Gordon Campbell, one of UK's leading trombonists and who has been with the BBC big band for 30 years. The following set was performed to a tight schedule:

* On Green Dolphin Street

* The Shadow of your Smile

* Stella By Starlight

* Jumpin' at the Woodside

* Misty

* My Funny Valentine

* Starsky and Hutch theme tune

Guest Vocalist was Hope London, originally a New Yorker whose well-known brother is a New-York based Jazz trumpeter; and Euan Leslie, a young drummer and Uk finalist in young drummer of the year 2013 helped to solidify the rhythm section. The big band players come from all around the Border region including Dumfries and Galloway and Cumbria. The band gave a great impression and has already been invited back for next year's festival.
