Eddie Johnson


 

 

Eddie is a performer, composer and guitar teacher. Born in Sale, Greater Manchester in 1990, he received his education through the local schools. During this time he also attended guitar lessons and bandskool; both of which were to provide an important stepping stone towards becoming a professional musician.During his time at bandskool, he formed his first band, 'Medioca Delinquency'.

After school, Eddie went on to attend Trafford Music College during which time he studied music performance and music technologies as well as amassing a wealth of experience on the live circuit as a performer with his former band, 'Sindicate'.

In 2008, having achieved his BTEC National Diploma he then furthered his musical studies by embarking upon a  degree programme at Salford University. As well as learning more about Jazz Theory, Musicology, session-work, composition and arranging, eventually graduating with a 2.1 in performance and recording, it was also where he founded his current band, 'Betraeus'. a progressive metal 4 piece. Through his band, Eddie has participated in high profile events such as the 'Download' festival and 'Bloodstock Open Air'.  Betraeus are now signed to record company, Siege of Amida and in the hands of professional management. After the successful release of their EP, 'Towards the Sun', followed by UK and European tours (including Euro blast Festival, Germany), they landed a top 5 position on the Scuzz video chart and have since built a respectable reputation within the music industry. Betraeus will be releasing their debut album later in 2013.

Outside his band, Eddie also runs a guitar repairs and custom build business in Sale, having completed a guitar luthier/repair apprenticeship.
