Phil Haywood

Phil Haywood BA (Hons)

Originally starting off in the Music for Life Youth Big Band in 2003, I experienced the amazing rush of playing in a group for the first time and going on tour across the Netherlands and Spain.

In 2006 I started performing in restaurants and bars across Cheshire in a mixture of Duos and Funk bands, and ended up moving to Manchester to pursue an education in music. Since then, I perform and record regularly across England with varied groups from Big Bands and Wind Bands, to function bands and Original artists. Examples of some of these works can be found on the Facebook page

In 2010 I graduated from Salford University majoring in composition and performance, and have been teaching all levels and ages from basic beginners to Grade 8 students in styles from Classical to Jazz & Pop. I am also freelancing as a contractor with different Music Services delivering First Access class lessons in Primary Schools across Cheshire.

Having taught students over the years aged 7 to 65 with a mixed range of abilities has afforded me a great range of experience and has been fantastic in aiding my direction as a tutor. During my career my numerous musical experiences in a variety of styles and the necessity to teach a wide range of abilities have provided me with the skill and flexibility to tailor lessons to the individual needs of my students.  To that end every single student will experience a personally tailored fun, efficient and exciting lesson!
